Ruth Genevie Parks

October 5, 1925 — May 27, 2018

Ruth Genevie (Jacobsen) Parks (1925 - 2018) Went Home to her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2018 after a difficult but brave struggle with Alzheimers disease. She would have been 93 in October. Our Beloved Mother "Ruthie" was born in Maple Heights, WA, on October 5, 1925. The second daughter to Moneta M. and Herbert S. Jacobsen. She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Christine. Mama loved to dance and served at the USO after graduation. She worked at Everett Trust Bank and became great friends with Mary Ellen Egge and Marge (Senior) Sontra. There was a monthly luncheon with the bank Ladies and she enjoyed the laughter and friendship. She briefly worked in the shoe department at JC Penney but loved her 27 year employment at the Snohomish County Extension Office. She became fast friends with Ellen Snow which lasted her lifetime, and her childhood friendship with Violet Ziebell. She met and married Johnny R. Parks and together they raised three daughters, Joan L. Parks Jean (Bob) Holt, and Julie (Lin) Currie. She loved and adored her seven grandchildren and ten Great grandchildren. She was called Nana, Granny, Foofie, and loved everyone of them. She loved all animals especially her childhood dogs, Queenie, Mitzi; and all the Furbabies of her family. Mama was a devout Christian and knew her Lord personally. She had a heart of gold but could control any situation with the "Look". A heartfelt Thank you to Olga, Sean, and Mariah, of Graceful Living Adult Home for the outstanding compassion and care of her. Thank you to the fantastic team from Hospice ,and to Dr. Patel for her dedicated care and management of a difficult disease. Per Mama's request there will be no services. Cremation per Solie Funeral Home. Private internment through Cypress Lawn. Donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Hospice.
