Philip Arther Cunningham

Phil Cunningham passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, with his family by his side. He passed after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Phil was born in Everett, Washington on September 16, 1937, to Juanita and Robert Cunningham. He lived in Everett and Silverlake in his younger years and spent his teenage years in North Bend and Snoqualmie, where he graduated from Mount Si High School in 1956. He was a carpenter in the winter months but the job he loved the most was as a commercial fisherman, Captain and owner of the fishing vessel Juanita C. in Sitka, Alaska. Phil married the love of his life, Cora D. Burke on November 5, 1997, in Reno, Nevada. Although they had spent 30 years together. Phil and Cora have a ranch and orchard in Everett raising cows and growing Asian pear trees and apple trees for 28 years. He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather with three daughters: Susan, Tiffany, Penny, and a son: Ronnie. Phil had two sisters: Karen, and Judy, and two sons-in-law: Cary and Tim. He has ten grandchildren: David, Chase, Marrissa, Camden, Jaime, Michael, Kayla, Chelsea, Jason, and Karly; and six great grandchildren: Hazel, Hadlee, Jaxon, Ava, Ethan, and Remi. He has many friends and fishermen who loved him, too. He did it his way through out his whole life. Phil took many chances and made it work for him. He will be remembered with great love as a man of honor, integrity, intelligence, and kindness. Parents, Juanita Elliott Cunningham, and Robert Paget Cunningham; sister Karen, and son Ronnie, all precede him in death. Family suggests donations in Phil's name may be made out to the Alzheimer's Associations in lieu of flowers if you choose. A visitation will take place at Solie Funeral Home, Everett, WA on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 12-4 pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the funeral home, starting at 2:30 pm. There will be a reception at the Cunningham home following the service, everyone is welcome to attend for a get together to reminisce with family and friends. Phil will be laid to rest on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Evergreen Memorial Park and Mausoleum in East Wenatchee, WA at 2:00 pm.
