Lyle James Theige, a.k.a. “Whitey” or “Jarnvold”, our Norwegian Viking was born on
11/26/43 in Vancouver, WA to parents Lloyd and Lucille Theige. He made his exit to
heaven and passed away peacefully in his home on 11/24/23, two days shy of his 80th
birthday.
Lyle attended Everett High School and graduated in 1962.
He spent the majority of his career at the P.U.D. as a Credit Representative and retired
in 1996 at the young age of 53.
Lyle was an avid fisherman and known for his delicious smoked salmon. He was also a
dirt bike racer and enjoyed riding dirt and street motorcycles throughout his life. Two
passions he shared with his son, Kris. He spent a lot of time at his lot in Marblemount
on the Cascade River where he loved to be outside enjoying his activities in such a
serene place.
Lyle was an animal lover and spent years with his daughter, Jody and her dogs on
morning walks and playing ball in the yard. He attracted many stray neighborhood
cats over the years that would move on in with him. His backyard was a bird sanctuary
with many varieties visiting daily.
Lyle was a dear friend to many and he cherished his lifelong friendships to the most
awesome people his family also loved.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Ruff. Three children, Daughter Dana Linton and her
husband Jim, Son Kris Theige and his wife Erin, Daughter Jody Marshall and her
husband David. Seven grandchildren, Jake, Kristen, Abby, Olivia, Kristine Anne,
Theresa and David. Three great grandchildren, Joseph, Avery and Wyatt.
Our Dad was the kindest and coolest man we were blessed to have. He was always
asking about and thinking of everyone else. He truly lived his life his way, “Lyle Style”.
We will have a private family Celebration of Life on December 24th and will spread his
ashes in Marblemount on the Cascade River.
Dad, we love you and will miss you. We are comforted knowing you are in heaven and
you are as free as a bird now.
