Jacqueline Schooley

April 21, 1950 — May 31, 2024

We sadly announce the passing of our mom, Jackie Schooley, on May 31, 2024.

Jackie was born and raised in Toppenish, WA to John and Teresa (Terry) Brearley. Her early school years began in Ms. Paige’s kindergarten class and continued through high school, where she played flute in Mr. T’s band class, and then graduated in 1968.

Her chosen profession was working with children and families. She worked for the Everett School District, Head Start programs. She moved to Dallas in the late 80s and taught child development at a Dallas, TX vocational school, and also worked as the Therapeutic Children’s Center Director at an alcohol and drug treatment center. She moved back to Seattle, and until retirement, she worked as the Director of an intergenerational children's center in a local retirement community.

She enjoyed being around friends and family, cooking, gardening, music, dancing, camping and fishing.

Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Carie Schooley and Leanne Gillett, her three nephews, and one niece. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Teresa Brearley, her sister Michele, and by former husband, Ron Schooley.

At her request there will be no service.

You are welcome to make a donation in her name to the Toppenish Rotary, and designate the donation to the John and Teresa Brearley Rotary Scholarship Fund, PO Box 621, Toppenish, WA 98948.
