Herman Vergara (68), husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on April 27, 2018 at his home in Everett, Washington. Herman leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Cheryl, their two sons that he adored, Philipp and Ryan, daughters-in-law Michelle and Carly, and his beloved sister Elanor Vergara Licudine. Herman was born in Mabini, Philippines, and moved to the United States at the age of 21. He ended up living in the Seattle area with his best friend, Rudy Ragudos who grew up with him in the Philippines. They have been best friends since the age of four and Rudy was the one who talked Herman into moving to the Seattle area, where Rudy had already moved to. Best friends for 64 years, Herman and Rudy loved spending time together. Herman worked his whole life to provide for his family that he loved. Herman spent 31 years working for Boeing as an aircraft mechanic, and retired April 21, 2017 to spend his days with the love of his life, Cheryl, and their two fur babies, Benzo and Blarney. Herman never met a dog that he didn't love and didn't love him back. His beloved fur baby, Benzo who they rescued 12 years ago, went everywhere with him. He also leaves behind their other fur baby, Blarney who they rescued on St. Patrick's Day, 2017. He also had a love of dogs, gardening, and woodworking. Herman will always be remembered for his classic sense of humor and constant joking that provided his family and friends with endless laughter, as well as his ability to create perfect millwork, and the most beautiful topiary trees! Herman's favorite sayings: "Hey, have you heard this great Filipino singer, let me YouTube it for you!" "Oh no, don't throw that away, I could use it someday!" "Don't spend your money on that, that's a gimmick!" "Don't forget to lock the door, there's crazy people out here!" "Don't you do that one more time or you're going to get it!" "Hey, let's go smoke!" "It's reality and I'm a realist!" A celebration of Herman's life will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018 at Solie Funeral Home. Viewing will be available from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. with funeral services starting at 1:00 p.m. A potluck reception will be held following the funeral at the residence of a family member in Everett.
