Donald Mannino

1951 - 2025

Donald Phillip Mannino, 73, of Everett passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, following a short but courageous battle with peritoneal cancer. Born on April 28, 1951, in Westfield, New Jersey; Don attended Westfield High School where he played varsity football and graduated in 1969. Don went on to attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and became a proud member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. After his college graduation, Don embarked on a 33-year career journey with Allstate Insurance that took his family across the country, starting in his hometown of Westfield, NJ, then to Atlanta, next to Dallas, and settling in Mill Creek, WA. Don held lifelong loves for music, sports, and Thoroughbred horse racing. Don’s passion for sports led him to help found Mill Creek Little League Baseball and serve as its first president and later as a coach. When his son, Andy, played football for the Jackson High School varsity team, Don joined the “Chain Gang” to support him. In his retirement, he organized a local golf group, which fostered new friendships and brought joy to many. A true music enthusiast, Don first shared his love of playing and teaching guitar with his son, Chris. Later in life, he enjoyed imparting his knowledge of guitar to veterans through the Guitars for Vets organization. In recognition of his positive impact and dedication to the organization, Don was presented with the Challenge Coin, which he regarded as a great honor to receive. Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda, their two sons, Chris and Andy, their wives, and three cherished grandchildren, Rohan, Sara, and Paxton. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Blom, his brother Tom and wife Janet, his brother Dan, and a large, loving extended family. A gathering to celebrate Don’s life will be held in the late spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s honor can be made to Mill Creek Little League Baseball at PO Box 12445 Mill Creek, WA 98082 or Guitars for Vets at Guitars for Vets Processing Center, 13400 Bishops Ln Suite 120, Brookfield, WI 53005.
