Darlene Kay Maxwell, departed this world on March 23, 2023 at the age of 71. She was a beloved music teacher, traveller, wife, mother and grandmother.

Darlene was born in Waterville, WA to Roy and Elva Ogle. She grew up in East Wenatchee, where she met her high school sweetheart Stanley Maxwell, who she married on April 4,1971.

Following her passion and love for music, she studied music theory at Washington State University, and began a 50 year career teaching piano and music to hundreds of children as she moved throughout Oregon and Washington following her husband’s job transfers.

After settling in the area of Everett, WA, she began exploring her passion to build on her inner being, learning, exploring, adventuring and helping others.

Her love of water and adventure took her on several cruises to Alaska, Bermuda, Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica. Her joy of travel took her to Egypt, Mexico, and to India where she helped bring music to children. Her journey of spiritual growth took her to Spain where she walked the Camino del Santiago route and three other variants.

She will be missed by all who’s life she touched and remembered as a loving, giving, compassionate and spiritual soul. In her passing she is helping bring vision to someone in need through the donation of her corneas. Her adventures will continue through a shared vision with another soul.

Darlene is survived by her husband Stanley, sons Loren, Christopher, Martin, daughter Diane, six grandchildren and two siblings.
