November 27, 1936 — October 1, 2022

Dalene Marie Somerville November 27, 1936 - October 1, 2022 Dalene Marie Somerville, of Arlington, WA, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 1, 2022. Dalene was the youngest of four children of George and Frances Simpson. Born in Wenatchee, WA, Dalene and her family moved to Snohomish, WA and then to Granite Falls, WA. Dalene graduated from Granite Falls High School and received her college degree from the University of Washington. Dalene married Dennis Somerville in 1964. Dalene and Dennis had two children together, Tharan Somerville and Thane Somerville. Dalene has one grandson, Nathaniel Somerville. Dalene was an incredibly generous and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She valued caring and providing for her family above all else. Dalene and Dennis made their home near Arlington, WA, on a beautiful farm known to all as "Maywood." Dalene was happiest at Maywood, caring for her pets, tending to her flowers and garden, and cooking wonderful meals and desserts for her family and friends. After college, Dalene worked for the State of Washington, in adoption services. Later, she worked as a juvenile probation officer for Snohomish County and Denny Youth Center where she helped guide many children on a better path through life. Dalene was hard-working, smart, reliable, humorous, and the life of the party wherever she was. Dalene is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dennis, her son, Thane, her grandson, Nathaniel, her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Robbins, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly. Dalene, you are irreplaceable to us, and you will be forever missed. At Dalene's request, a private family funeral service has been held.
