Burl Wehrli of Darrington, WA, at the age of 88, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 12, 2017. Burl was born to Burl and Bertha Wehrli in Sioux City, Iowa on October 21, 1929. Burl graduated from Mabton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy 1948-1952. Burl married Betty Herrmann in Seattle, 1952. They later settled in Alderwood Manor, WA, to raise their family. During his working career, Burl was an iron worker, worked on the Alaska pipeline, a meat cutter, and plant engineer; retiring in 1990. In Burl's younger years he enjoyed playing the guitar and golf. He also enjoyed building and wood-working; volunteering to cut out pine box cars for vacation bible school. He was always there to lend a helping hand. Burl loved going to the grand kids games and cheering them on. He spent a lot of his spare time at the cabin with family and friends. Burl lived his life to the fullest; he loved to laugh and tell jokes, making friends wherever he went. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Burl is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and four children, Rick, Marshann, Rolly (Diana), and Melanie (Tim); nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Celebration of life to be held at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Darrington, WA on January 6, 2018, 1:00 p.m.
